We are currently seeking a resourceful, self-motivated and experienced Managing Architect to provide high-level building review and design services for a broad range of clientele. This position is primarily based in our Syracuse, Utica, Rochester and Albany, NY offices and offers excellent career growth and advancement potential for the selected individual. Specific areas of responsibility could include: Client engagement and interaction Proposal and fee development Project site investigations Code review and analysis Architectural design, including detailing, delegation of work to intern architects and designers, and review of their work Preparation and review of design reports, building condition surveys, construction drawings and specifications Verification of construction projects for compliance with plans and specifications Excellent communication and writing skills are essential for synergistic interaction with technical clients and staff. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Revit and AutoCAD is expected. A strong working knowledge of basic construction and industry standards, as well as state building codes, is required. A broad familiarity with the work of other project team members (structural, electrical, mechanical and civil engineers) is desired to enable integrated and coordinated project design solutions. Desired soft skills include interfacing with internal and external clients, mentoring younger staff, and assisting with proposal development. This position offers the opportunity to develop and manage dynamic, challenging projects with innovative goals. Additional industry certifications, including LEED AP, are considered a plus. Registration as a Registered Architect (RA or AIA) in NY or eligibility to obtain is desired. Qualifications
• A B.S. in Architecture with a minimum of 10+ years of diverse consulting engineering experience on municipal, commercial, private, and/or industrial facilities projects • Acute analytical skills and the capability to design and manage small to large projects • Comprehensive technical background across architectural and building design, including code review and client management • Strong written and verbal communication skills; exceptional attention to detail Compensation
Estimated Pay Range : $90,000 - $115,000/year. Actual compensation may vary based on related work experience, geographic location, education/training, certifications and other credentials, as well as applicable knowledge and skills. Equal Opportunity
