As a Designated Coordinator, you will oversee the program management for homes supporting individuals with disabilities. You will ensure each individual receives guidance, encouragement, support, comfort, security, and safety through relationship building. You will advocate for each individual’s health and wellness needs and support them in achieving their outcomes, hopes, and dreams by promoting independence in essential life skills. You will monitor and administer medications and medical treatments as prescribed by physicians, and you will monitor and maintain each individual’s plan and financial records per regulations and program policies and procedures. You will supervise, support, train, and evaluate Direct Support Professionals, teaching them to advocate effectively for the individuals they support. You will manage accounts payable, payroll records, petty cash/individual accounts, and budget monitoring. You will develop and maintain positive working relationships with counties, families, stakeholders, and community organizations. You will maintain documentation, perform record keeping, and participate in periodic meetings/trainings. While the hours are primarily Monday–Friday, you may be needed for emergencies and to meet the needs of the program. Qualifications and Requirements
A bachelor’s degree in a field related to Human Services and one year of full-time work experience providing direct care services to persons with disabilities or persons age 65 and older; OR An associate’s degree in a field related to Human Services and two years of full-time work experience providing direct care services to persons with disabilities or persons age 65 and older; OR A diploma in a field related to Human Services from an accredited postsecondary institution and three years of full-time work experience providing direct care services to persons with disabilities or persons age 65 and older; OR A minimum of 50 hours of education and training related to Human Services and disabilities and four years of full-time work experience providing direct care services to persons with disabilities or persons age 65 and older under supervision of a qualified staff person; When managing an ICF/MR program, a bachelor’s degree with QDDP designation is required. Driver’s license required. CPR certificate, First Aid (where required), and medication administration training (can be obtained after hire). Training in supervisory skills, team building, and leadership. Bureau of Criminal Affairs (BCA) clearance required.
