Condé Nast is a premier media company renowned for producing the highest quality content for the world's most influential audiences, attracting more than 100 million consumers across its industry-leading print, digital and video brands. The Global Data Engineering team builds data pipelines, data products, and tools that enable Data Scientists, Analysts, Business Intelligence Engineers, and Executives to solve challenging use cases. We are seeking a seasoned Data Engineer to build and maintain dimensional data models across business areas such as subscriptions, video, clickstream, commerce, social and advertising within Condé Nast. Location: New York, NY Responsibilities
Understand the company data assets, engage with business stakeholders, the analytics team, the Business Intelligence team and other data consumers to translate data needs into efficient, scalable dimensional data models. Serve as a core member of the data engineering team and assist the business with understanding data attributes, data models, cardinality, granularity, etc. Build, test, scale and maintain highly reliable dimensional data models from batch data sources and real-time streams. Build and maintain highly validated data-marts with clear and correct key business metrics for BI reporting. Collaborate with other Data Engineers, Data Scientists, and BI Engineers to architect and implement a shared technical vision. Design and present recommendations to guide future business and data directions. Contribute to the data infrastructure and platform used to build data pipelines. Follow agile processes with a focus on delivering production-ready, testable deliverables in an iterative fashion. Serve as a senior technical contact for the data solutions engineering team. Minimum Qualifications
BS, MS, Ph.D., or equivalent industry experience in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related fields. 4+ years of near Real Time (Streaming) & Batch Data Pipeline development in a large-scale organization. 9+ years of total software development experience. Experience in writing reusable/efficient code to automate analysis and data processes. 3+ years of business/marketing analytics experience, preferably in a consumer-based organization. Experience working on independent projects with minimal supervision. Experience processing structured and unstructured data for analysis and reporting with integration from web analytics, consumer analytics, and advertising data sources. Expertise in data modeling, batch data pipeline design and implementation. Strong software development and engineering fundamentals. Experience implementing scalable, distributed, highly available systems using AWS services (e.g., Kinesis, DynamoDB, S3). Exceptional communication skills with ability to visualize quantitative findings for business stakeholders. Experience mentoring junior team members. High proficiency in Python/PySpark, Scala or Java; high proficiency in SQL. Experience with Databricks/Spark and orchestration tools such as Airflow (e.g., Astronomer). Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions) and Git version control. Experience with Terraform and infrastructure as code concepts. What happens next?
