Saint Joseph’s Catholic School, a private, faith-based, college-preparatory school, is seeking a
full-time College Counselor
to join our dedicated College Counseling team. This position guides students and families through all aspects of the college search, application, and admissions process, while supporting the mission of helping students discern and pursue post-secondary opportunities that align with their strengths, talents, and aspirations. Responsibilities
Implement a comprehensive college counseling program for grades 9–12, including student/parent meetings, workshops, financial aid nights, and college planning events. Counsel 11th and 12th grade students individually and in small groups on curriculum, college applications, essays, resumes, and financial aid. Write individualized school letters of recommendation and manage transcript and document submissions. Provide early college awareness programming for 9th and 10th graders, including parent nights and course scheduling guidance. Build strong relationships with colleges and universities through rep visits, college fairs, conferences, and advocacy on behalf of students. Deliver engaging presentations to students and families on topics such as the college search process, essays, applications, and scholarships. Support students in pursuing scholarships, summer programs, and special opportunities. Contribute to departmental communications, including social media, website content, and the annual school profile. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in Counseling or related field preferred. Prior experience in college admissions or high school college counseling. Strong understanding of the college admissions landscape, including selective admissions and financial aid. Excellent communication, writing, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, parents, and administrators. A passion for working with high school students and supporting their personal and academic growth.
