Overview

Dykema Gossett PLLC, a leading national law firm, is recruiting for a Legal Support Coordinator – Consumer Litigation in our Bloomfield Hills location. The Legal Support Coordinator provides administrative support to meet the daily needs of the office location under the supervision of the Office Administrator, delivering exceptional customer service. Responsibilities include coordinating the national legal support team for the assigned products liability group practice, preparing, organizing and filing electronic and non-electronic court filings and other legal documents, data entry for new business intake (NBI), utilizing the NetDocs document management system, and processing invoices/expense reports. Responsibilities can vary day to day depending on office needs.

Responsibilities

Provide day-to-day support to attorneys and legal support staff, with primary duties supporting the assigned products liability team and coordinating national discovery management.

Assist with new business intake processes; save client/attorney emails and court notifications in NetDocs or similar DMS; perform electronic filing following court procedures and using court portals.

Create, types, modify and save correspondence, memoranda, notes, and legal documents from drafts, originals or dictation.

Copy and scan documents; create and update binders.

Assist with attorney time entry, travel and scheduling; maintain list of current billing numbers.

Provide support for reception, conference center, and/or copy center as needed.

Perform other administrative duties as assigned by firm management.

Qualifications

Two years of post-high school education and related work experience required; Associate’s Degree preferred; prior law firm/legal department experience is a plus.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including data entry, proofreading, spelling, grammar and punctuation.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint); typing proficiency with 55+ wpm preferred.

Strong organizational and project management skills; ability to multi-task and work with minimal supervision.

Ability to exercise independent judgment, manage priorities, and meet deadlines.

Professionalism and confidentiality in handling firm and client matters.

Experience operating administrative office equipment (e.g., copier, scanner, fax).

Ability to work effectively in a team and with a diverse group at all levels of the organization; able to take direction and apply feedback.

Flexibility to work overtime, evenings, or weekends when required.
