Make a Difference Through Education. Empower Every Learner. Brandon Residential Treatment Center is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our on-site, therapeutic school. In this important role, you will support boys and young men who have faced challenges in traditional educational settings, helping them grow academically, socially, and emotionally in a supportive and structured environment. We’re looking for an educator who is passionate about individualized instruction, student-centered learning, and trauma-informed teaching practices. (All general education licensed teachers will have a 12 month schedule with generous time off package) Option 2 SPED Teacher, 10mo schedule
(All special education licensed teachers will work 190 days with an additional 7 sick/personal days to use when school is in session) Position Responsibilities: Contribute to creating a safe, nurturing, caring atmosphere for youth at Brandon Demonstrate an understanding of child development relevant to the age group of the program. Demonstrate an ability to form and maintain positive, nurturing relationships with youth by building trust and supporting competencies through interest and active engagement. Demonstrate an awareness of the physical and emotional environment by contributing to the school being a place that is emotionally and physically safe, nurturing, appropriately engaging and stimulating, which fosters growth and resilience. Work as part of a team to identify needs and strategies to meet those needs. Training for and implementing physical intervention as needed Qualifications Valid MA teaching licensure Experience working in school setting or with similar population required Valid driver’s license.
