LTCR Nursing Facilities Investigator VI – This position conducts on-site licensure inspections, complaint and incident investigations, and annual comprehensive surveys in facilities to determine compliance with federal and state health and safety regulations. Responsibilities

Conduct on-site licensure inspections, complaint and incident investigations, and annual comprehensive surveys in long-term care facilities to determine compliance with federal and state health and safety regulations. Complete inspection or survey reports detailing deficiencies and remedies to correct those deficiencies and support regulatory determinations. Communicate clearly with internal and external parties to exchange information, answer inquiries, and resolve issues or complaints in Texas long-term care facilities. Conduct exit conferences with facility staff regarding findings and verify correction of previously cited regulatory violations. Perform quality assurance reviews of documents prepared by others and, when required, testify at hearings or court proceedings. Be available for on-call duties for emergencies such as weather events or high-priority situations; may involve occasional skilled care if the employee is a licensed nurse. Be able to travel up to 80% statewide, including overnight and weekend travel; flexible to support emergency licensure actions and regulatory oversight. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

Knowledge of acceptable professional standards of patient care. Skilled in conducting investigations to verify compliance and interpret policies, procedures, and regulations. Ability to multi-task, track multiple activities, and work independently. Proficiency in report writing and computer usage for documentation. Ability to exercise professional judgment and integrate complex regulatory concepts, procedures, and processes. Qualifications

Must have Surveyor Minimum Qualifications Test (SMQT) Certification or obtain within 12 months of hire. Current license or registration as a nurse, social worker, respiratory therapist, or dietician preferred. Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university (experience may be substituted year-for-year for up to four years). Experience in regulatory services and in writing detailed reports is preferred. Experience operating personal computers and software. Additional Information

Flexibility in work hours; 80% travel, including statewide travel, overnight and weekend travel. On-call duties for emergencies or high-priority situations may be required. Reliable transportation required. This position may offer a compressed workweek (four 10-hour days). All applicants must pass a fingerprint background check.
