As the Lighting Designer you will lead and build the volunteer teams that are responsible for meeting the various lighting production needs for Adult Ministries across the Willow South Barrington campus including, but not limited to, weekend services, special services, ministry events and workshops, and outside events. You will use your lighting expertise to serve in an operating and coaching role as we seek to recruit, train, and empower volunteer lighting designers. In addition, you will assist as needed with various Central Arts & Worship ministry projects, in the ideating, implementing and creating phases of content development and scenic design serving all campuses.
This full time role has a Sunday - Thursday work week. The salary range for this position is around $57,000 - $78,000 depending on experience and skill set. Job Responsibilities
Support adult services and ministries through the use of well executed lighting in both operating and coaching roles. Work on a team to manage and maintain aspects of the lighting rig including fixtures, consoles and infrastructure as well as other production systems around campus Contribute to services and large events through brainstorming, R&D and implementation including message props, scenic design and general production treatment Recruit, train, care for, and support lighting volunteers

Arriving at the end of a service or event knowing that lighting was done to the best of our ability with a team that loves serving together as much at the finish line as at the starting point.

Proven lighting design experience Programming GrandMA Lighting consoles Power & Data Management Understanding of DMX, ArtNet and digital networking Understanding of intelligent light maintenance

Unflappable - cool under pressure Collaborator - able to work well with others and able to appropriately give and receive constructive feedback that leads to improvements in the technical arts. Teacher - willingness to impart technical skills to inexperienced volunteers. Aligned with Willow Creek’s core values and beliefs Currently or willing to regularly attend a Willow Creek Community Church location and be an active part of our church family
Education And Experience
Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree with a Theatre/Lighting Design major preferred 1-3 years experience working with medium to large lighting rigs 5+ years living fully devoted to Christ
