Job Summary As a
Catering Manager , you will oversee the Catering Department for a high-volume corporate dining account in Durham, NC. Your responsibilities include training new team members, coordinating event setups, and supervising temporary staff alongside daily catering operations. You will ensure exceptional client service during events by managing proper setup, service, and cleanup procedures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Supervise all catering events.
Involved in catering event operations, including logistics, quality improvement, sanitation, and all facility-related activities.
Work with the Chef in creating menus.
Train catering associates in service techniques, menu presentation, and customer service.
Track and monitor the labor and food costs for each event.
Communicate on various levels to include management, client, customer, and associate levels; maintain excellent client relationships.
Assist in responsibility for all food service-related activities.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
At least 3 years of catering management experience in food service.
Must have prior experience. Events and in Office Catering.
Experience in fine dining restaurants, hotels, country clubs, corporate dining, and/or related foodservice operations.
Catering experience is required.
Some knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation.
Financial, budgetary, accounting, and computational skills.
Proficient computer skills and knowledge of MS Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and the internet.
ServSafe Certification.
