Summary Acts as a Public Health Emergency Preparedness (PHEP) subject-matter expert and works in coordination with businesses and organizations to conduct community outreach and education to increase awareness of PHEP in the community. Oversees the safety warden program, including developing and revising safety plans, training safety wardens, and completing After-Action Reports (AARs). Maintains Health Alert Network (HAN) database. For more information, please click on the link below: en / human-resources / Essential Duties and Responsibilities Acts as a PHEP subject-matter expert, developing presentations and conducting community outreach and education for various organizations including faith-based, corporate, educational, housing, vulnerable populations, civic, and social groups. Attends health fairs and community events to raise awareness of PHEP and promote personal preparedness. Oversees the safety warden program, including developing safety plans, training wardens, and completing AARs. Tracks PHEP inventory for audits. Develops schedules for safety drills (fire, tornado, active shooter, etc.) and documents AARs. Supports Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) events, including setup and takedown of health fairs, exercises, and drills. Coordinates logistical support with TCPH warehouse staff for exercises, drills, and emergency operations. Maintains PHEP radio communications, including updating communication plans, maintaining equipment, and conducting training. Maintains TCPH HAN database and sends alerts as needed. Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Requirements Note:

Applicants must meet one of the following: Bachelor’s degree or higher + 2 years of full-time experience in public health emergency preparedness, emergency management, public health, or community outreach. Associate's degree + 4 years of full-time experience in the relevant fields. High School diploma or GED + 6 years of full-time experience in the relevant fields. Possess HAM Radio Technician license or obtain within six months of hire. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal departments and external partners. Knowledge of emergency preparedness and response. Additional Skills and Abilities Ability to develop and coordinate trainings. Ability to work well independently and in a team environment. Effective communication skills across diverse socioeconomic and professional backgrounds. Organized, detail-oriented, with multitasking and pressure management skills. Proficient in database management, data analysis, and report generation. Proficient in Microsoft Office programs. Flexible schedule, including weekends.
