Nuclear Operations Procedure Writer Position Description:
Protingent Staffing has an exciting contract opportunity for a Nuclear Operations Procedure Writer. Job Responsibilities: Develops and maintains knowledge of plant design, plant operations, disciplinary skills, and techniques to develop effective, high-quality procedures. Develops and maintains processes and standards for writing and revising administrative and operating procedures, supporting software development, and implementation. Uses software tools to develop electronic procedures and workflows supporting review, approval, and transfer to an electronic document management system. Identifies streamlining opportunities and implements process improvements. Creates, organizes, and tracks site administrative procedures and programs. Supports the identification and selection of personnel for procedure and program development. Coordinates activities and provides guidance to a team of procedure writers and program owners across locations. Ensures procedures meet industry standards and minimize safety and performance risks. Provides training and mentoring on procedure development and revision standards. Engages with industry peers, vendors, NEI, and organizations to find innovative methods and technologies. Implements processes for regulatory reviews (e.g., 10CFR50.59, 10CFR72.48). Coordinates cross-discipline reviews and database implementation. Ensures compliance with standards, NRC regulations, INPO criteria, and other requirements. Incorporates feedback from industry reports, regulations, plant changes, and training into procedures. Maintains records of procedure development and revisions. Identifies software capabilities needed for new programs. Assists in establishing department goals and budgets. Performs additional tasks supporting schedule adherence, primarily focusing on nuclear plant program development. Job Qualifications: 10 years of experience in nuclear plant operations, maintenance, or engineering. 5 years of experience writing nuclear procedures, including 2 years for administrative procedures. 2 years in a leadership role. Strong knowledge of nuclear systems and terminology. Experience interpreting nuclear standards and maintaining compliance. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and procedure software tools. Excellent technical writing and communication skills. Detail-oriented with a drive for procedural excellence. Self-motivated with innovative problem-solving skills. High integrity, open communication, and teamwork orientation. Understanding of how actions impact organizational compliance and safety. Ability to adapt to changes in plant design, procedures, and schedules. Job Details: Type: Contract Location: 100% Remote acceptable Pay Range: $72-$90/hr Export regulations require candidates to be U.S. Citizens, Legal Permanent Residents, or protected persons.
