We are investing in the next generation of veterinary doctors! As part of your veterinary curriculum, colleges encourage off-campus educational experiences. Our externship provides practical experience in a well-equipped, contemporary practice, preparing you for a successful veterinary career. Program Structure
Externships range from two to eight weeks, typically lasting two or three weeks, scheduled during your academic year. The schedule includes days, evenings, and weekends. Externs work under veterinary supervision, practicing problem-solving, technical, and communication skills. You will work alongside our veterinary team, participate in patient care, and develop your clinical skills. A stipend of $250 per week is provided. Responsibilities
Gather histories and perform physical exams Develop diagnostic and treatment plans Assist in surgeries and medical case management Provide wellness care and client communication Maintain medical records (SOAPs) Candidate Requirements
Enrolled in an accredited DVM program Authorized to work in the U.S. Carry professional liability insurance (AVMA PLIT coverage is recommended and free for AVMA student members) Our Commitment
We view ourselves as part of your educational team, providing mentorship and evaluation. You will be assigned a mentor, and your performance will be evaluated at the end of the externship. Additional Details
