This faculty position reports directly to the Dean of Nursing. Responsibilities include planning, teaching, directing, and supervising all student learning experiences in the classroom, following the college curriculum approved by the Accreditation Bureau. Responsibilities
Demonstrate thorough knowledge of Psychology Teach assigned Psychology courses Use diverse teaching strategies to communicate subject matter effectively Implement alternative teaching methodologies as needed Maintain office hours Participate in assessment of student learning outcomes Keep accurate student and instructional records each semester Collaborate with faculty to develop curriculum, materials, and evaluation tools Review and update course textbooks regularly Encourage development of communication and higher-order thinking skills Develop and post course syllabi timely Evaluate student performance fairly and provide prompt feedback Be sensitive to student needs and circumstances Record and report attendance data according to college policies Personal Qualities
Serve as a professional role model Work effectively with others Communicate clearly and effectively Work well with students and staff from diverse backgrounds Show integrity and a commitment to continuous improvement Work independently and collaboratively Minimum Requirements and Education
Teaching experience preferred Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Psychology or related field from a regionally accredited institution; or Bachelor’s/Master’s plus 18 graduate semester hours in Psychology or related field Additional Details
