Base Pay Range $20.00/hr - $20.00/hr
Locations and Shifts Part‑time Personal Attendant openings for weekends/weekdays different shifts available in Richmond, Emeryville, San Pablo, and Oakland, California.
Pay Rate
The awake rate is $20.00 per hour and $18.67 for OVERNIGHT ONLY.
Open shifts 8:00 to 4:00 pm. 4:00 to 11:00 pm different days available.
Pathway to Choices offers Medical and Dental Benefits to full‑time Employees, 401k Retirement plan, and paid time off.
Candidate must have lasted more than a year at their past or current jobs. All others will not be acceptable.
About the Organization Pathway to Choices provides Independent Living, Supported Living, and Adult Day Services to people with developmental disabilities. We have a strong value of consumer choice, as well as a strong emphasis on independent living and support in the home. We have multiple positions available and are looking for caring assistants to provide support to our consumers. A friendly outgoing person with clear communication skills is a must! Consumer needs assistance with the activities of daily living.
Positions Available The following positions are currently available either full‑time (30+ hours/week + benefits and 401k Retirement plan), or part‑time. All shifts available include Overnight and weekends.
Responsibilities (Supported Living Caregiver)
Assisting consumers with dressing, grooming, showers, and personal hygiene.
Cooking and assisting consumers with household chores.
Assistance with Activities of Daily Living including personal care, accompanying client on outings, attending/accompanying, and assisting the client with preparing for social interactions/entertainment.
Distributing self‑administered medications, completing medication logs, and ensuring medications are refilled and up‑to‑date.
Arranging for medical appointments and transportation when necessary.
Completing progress notes.
Responsibilities (Independent Living Skills Instructor)
Household maintenance.
Documentation procedures of consumer progress/monthly progress report.
Money management.
Establish and maintain an effective working relationship with consumers, co‑workers, parents, and outside contacts. Refer/relate information to supervisor.
Physical demands: considerable standing or walking, occasional reaching, bending; must be able to lift at least 45 lbs. Must be able to transfer experience.
Minimum Qualifications
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Interest and willingness to work with consumers to meet their needs and choices.
Ability and willingness to be flexible.
Valid California Driver’s License, adequate transportation, including valid automobile insurance and current registration, and a clean DMV record.
Upon offer of employment, provide evidence of good physical health.
Good physical health is to be verified by a health screening and a test for tuberculosis, performed by or under the supervision of a physician, not more than one year prior to or seven days after employment.
Upon offer of employment, complete a Statement of Prior Criminal Conviction, obtain a California Criminal Clearance (Live‑Scan Fingerprinting) or a Criminal Record Exemption, and obtain and maintain the required training (including but not limited to First Aid, CPR, and ProAct).
Preferred Knowledge
Knowledge of the service system for adults with developmental disabilities in the State of California.
Must be willing to work with adults with a wide range of disabilities and in a behavior management program.
An understanding and commitment to the philosophy of normalization, inclusion, positive programming, and consumer‑driven services.
Completes required training (CPR, First Aid, ProAct, etc.) as required.
Other duties as assigned.
