Position Summary The priority of this position is to create conditions within Spring Lake Park High School for students to explore and experience Culinary Arts learning experiences aligned to industry standards and opportunities. The ongoing development of a Culinary Arts career pathway is a focus of the position. Our school serves a diverse student population, and we seek a teacher who can create personalized and engaging experiences so that each student feels valued, inspired and has a sense of belonging, resulting in college readiness and aspirations for success.
Primary Responsibilities
Know each student by name, strength, interest and need to tailor personalized work and learning experiences
Teach in multiple modes (brick-and-mortar, hybrid, and online)
Approach learning from a student-centered perspective rather than a teacher-centered one
Innovate and blend learning across multiple subject areas; collaborate with peers in learning communities
Engage in ongoing communication with families to build relationships and report progress
Analyze data, set goals, learn individually and collaboratively, implement new learning, and monitor, assess, and adjust practice
Qualifications
Earned a B.A. or B.S. degree and current Minnesota State Secondary FACS (5-12 or 7-12) licensure, or eligibility
Highly effective interpersonal skills and ability to work harmoniously with a wide range of students, families, and staff
Commitment to equitable education of all students; strong creative planning and organizational skills
Experience working with and celebrating diverse learners
Licensing Requirements Current Minnesota Secondary Family and Consumer Sciences (FACS) Licensure, or eligibility is required.
Salary and Benefits
Position: 1.0 FTE Teacher
Salary: $50,076 - $102,103 per school year (placement based on experience and qualifications)
Benefits: Medical, Dental, Sick Leave, 403(b), Life, LTD, FSA
Salary pro-rated based on start date
