The Manager Resource Acquisition oversees the negotiation and management of the Company's long-term procurement of power for generating and energy storage resources in a dynamic and frequently changing environment. Effectively develop power purchase agreements, ownership agreements, and all associated agreements to ensure the long-term energy and capacity needs of the Company are economically procured while minimizing legal, financial, and regulatory risks. Ensure proper input from internal Company departments so that all facets of the Company's interests are reflected in the executed agreements and that appropriate financial evaluations and supporting analysis are complete and documented. Work with the Resource Acquisition Director and other business units to develop a cohesive procurement strategy, taking into account system and customer needs, corporate goals, stakeholder interests, and regulatory requirements. Serve as management liaison regarding procurement status and resource performance. Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Business, Engineering, Finance, pre-law or related discipline (Masters preferred) With a minimum of eight (8) years experience in a commercial contracting environment. In lieu of a degree, a high school diploma and twelve (12) years of related experience is required. Must have an in-depth knowledge of contract requirements that relate to the electric utility business, utility power operations, federal and state regulatory principles, and risk management principles as well as a working knowledge of various generating technologies, contract law, business law principles, accounting and auditing procedures. Preferred special skills, knowledge or qualifications: Proven ability to effectively supervise personnel at various grade levels and experience. Demonstrated abilities in contract development, complex deal structuring, negotiation team leadership, and contract administration. Strong interpersonal, negotiating and communication skills are essential. Demonstrated strong writing skills and attention to detail in written work. Understanding of Company operations, organization and contracting procedures as well as knowledge of rate structures, markets, commodity trading, trading tools, and indices preferred. Major Accountabilities

Provide effective leadership and supervision to the Resource Acquisition team. Supervise negotiating team members and participate in negotiations as needed. Develop effective teams and foster a cooperative culture that supports team accomplishments, cost effective performance and results in an environment consistent with APS/PNW cultural and performance expectations. Work with the Resource Acquisition Director and other business units to develop a cohesive procurement strategy, taking into account system and customer needs, corporate goals, stakeholder interests, and regulatory requirements. Manage effective contracting process, from solicitation development to bid analysis to negotiation and execution of agreements and long-term contract management. Ensure that processes are performed in accordance with Company risk guidelines and any legal or regulatory requirements. Oversee management of long-term agreements negotiated by the Resource Acquisition team and ensure appropriate hand-off of any agreements ultimately managed by other business units. Ensure Company positions relative to financial/credit risk, operational performance, and remedies are appropriately reflected in all agreements. Assist in the vetting and selection of independent monitor candidates in connection with Requests for Proposals and work closely with selected monitor through the solicitation process to ensure regulatory compliance and the issuance of a favorable report. Develop and maintain sufficient Resource Acquisition policies and procedures to support all Resource Acquisition deliverables and accountabilities. Facilitate the development of Resource Acquisition team knowledge of contract terms and relative costs/benefits. Ensure high quality work product, as well as efficiency and productivity, from the Resource Acquisition team. Ensure that all written work product produced by the Resource Acquisition team is of the highest caliber. Develop and maintain open and positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders and with counterparties. Hybrid:

Employees in hybrid roles work both in their home offices (virtually) and alongside their colleagues (in person). In order for employees to build strong relationships and to promote meaningful in-person interactions, hybrid employees are expected to work about 40% of their time in-person at an APS or other (non-home office) location. *Employees are expected to reside in Arizona (or New Mexico for Four Corners-based employees). *Working from a home office requires adequate technology and an appropriate ergonomic set up. *Role types are subject to change based on business need.
