Overview

Retail Store Manager at Girl Scouts of Greater Los Angeles (GSGLA). This role is responsible for the day-to-day operation of a GSGLA regional retail store selling Girl Scout merchandise to Troop Leaders and parents, including sales productivity, inventory management, and merchandise presentation. The store should be inviting, clean, well stocked, and provide excellent customer service in accordance with GSGLA expectations. Responsibilities

Provide pleasant and professional interaction with customers via phone, email, and in-person. Drive business into the store by creating external communications to invite the membership to shop. Promote the Girl Scout Leadership experience and motivate girls and parents to participate. Develop and maintain knowledge of merchandise as it relates to Program levels and assist volunteers with questions. Educate members on the National Girl Scout Program and available merchandise in-store and online; build sales through suggestive selling. Pull requested merchandise, process, and fulfill small and large customer orders for in-store pickup or shipping. Receive payments, operate POS and card processors, issue changes as needed, and report as scheduled. Perform supervisory duties including interviewing applicants, training and guiding staff, scheduling, problem resolution, performance reviews, and disciplinary actions as necessary. Update sales clerks on business performance, new programs, products, promotions, and events. Maximize floor presentation with products reflecting seasonal Girl Scout activities; use placement techniques to encourage sales. Maintain store and stockroom cleanliness, organization, and safety. Practice inventory control methods using GSGLA software systems; conduct accurate counts and receive merchandise shipments. Participate in annual physical inventory counts and support periodic retail team meetings to discuss strategies. Adhere to Retail policies and procedures and support other duties as assigned; may perform duties of a store salesclerk as needed. Qualifications

Outstanding customer service and organizational skills. Highly personable with empathy toward customers. Ability to multitask and be dependable and self-motivated. Strong collaboration with Retail staff and customers; effective time management and attention to detail. Experience with Point of Sale (POS) systems. Excellent computer skills (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, social media). Flexible, adaptable, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Ability to sit, use a computer, stand and walk for long periods as needed. Travel ability to various facilities throughout the region by personal vehicle or public transportation. Physical ability to lift up to 15 pounds periodically and move boxes related to merchandise deliveries and stockroom organization; may require stepping stools or ladders. Education, Training and Experience

GED or High School diploma required; some college experience preferred. Experience supervising one to two part-time salesclerks and coordinating high-volume events and promotions. Knowledge of Girl Scouting is highly desirable. Benefits
