This position manages and oversees the sanitation program at the LHD Tulare Facility, including CIP system design assessment, cleaning methodologies, chemical inventory management, and verification/validation of the cleaning program for continuous improvement. The role reports to the Senior Manager, Quality and supports decision-making related to CIP systems, process improvements, and Capital Investments related to the area. The goal is to ensure effective management of plant cleaning, sanitation compliance with GMPs, safety practices, and sanitation policies. This is a salaried, exempt position with one direct report (Supervisor). From your EXPERTISE to ours. Key responsibilities for this position include: Lead capital project execution related to sanitation programs and equipment. Oversee the effective implementation of the sanitation programs, ensuring budget, timing, and efficiency targets are met. Define goals and KPIs for the sanitation area aligned with plant objectives. Analyze data and trends related to cleaning verification and validation, triggering corrective and preventive actions to ensure food safety and quality. Monitor and adjust cleaning systems and procedures for optimal cleanliness of processing lines and surrounding areas. Visit and/or audit 3rd shift sanitation practices on a minimum quarterly basis. Participate in preparation of operation shutdown weeks and related sanitation activities. Troubleshoot sanitation issues with management and production, recommending improvements to policies and procedures. Perform comprehensive sanitation audits on production processes to determine effectiveness. Develop and implement the Master Validation Plan and verification programs. Hire and train new personnel as needed, ensuring competency levels. Serve as a technical resource for sanitation and cleaning validation. Develop plans to increase cleaning effectiveness and identify cost-reduction opportunities. Ensure Employee & Food Safety and Sanitation Programs are adhered to and executed with excellence by all sanitation personnel. With QC Manager, maintain accurate on-site chemical inventory aligned with cleaning goals. Oversee sanitation schedules and SSOPs reflecting process improvements to maintain hygienic conditions. Review and maintain sanitation documentation for QA and regulatory review. Build partnerships with production, quality, and human resources to meet production and people goals. Provide leadership and direction for the sanitation team with focus on food safety, performance, planning, scheduling, and cost control. Interview, hire, and train employees; plan, assign, and direct work; appraise performance; address complaints and resolve problems. Member of the Food Safety Team with expertise in sanitation and cleaning validation processes. Develop and execute plans to improve cleaning effectiveness and identify opportunities to reduce costs. Ensure sanitation practices align with safety and regulatory requirements. Collaborate with teams to drive continuous improvement in sanitation performance. From your STORY to ours. Qualified applicants will contribute the following: Engineering Degree preferred (Mechanical, Chemical, Food, or similar) 5+ years of sanitation experience in a food manufacturing facility 5 years’ experience leading direct-reporting team members Knowledge of CIP Design and Operation Proficient written and verbal communication Strong problem-solving and analytical skills Effective time management and organizational skills Desire to train, coach, and develop others Attention to detail and accuracy Ability to work with all levels of the organization Team-oriented, tactful, and dependable Knowledge of basic engineering calculations to define CIP parameters (flow) in systems At Lactalis, we offer a comprehensive Total Rewards Program with benefits and coverage options.
