Job Description
The School of Education, Social Work, and Psychological Sciences at the University of Missouri-Kansas City is seeking qualified candidates for adjunct faculty teaching positions. The division offers coursework in educational leadership, foundations, and research at the master's and doctoral levels. This announcement aims to identify a pool of adjunct faculty qualified to deliver graduate-level courses in Educational Leadership, Policy, and Foundations. Responsibilities of UMKC Part-time Faculty Members Create and maintain civil and engaging learning environments Deliver curriculum through high-quality instruction Assess student learning using various evaluation methods Use early alert systems to identify students at risk of failing (UMKC Connect) Provide prompt, objective, and fair feedback Assign grades and maintain student records per university policy Adhere to and model university standards of professionalism Be accessible for student conferences and consultations Engage in self-reflection and professional development This is a part-time position, not eligible for benefits, with hours varying per opportunity. Contracts are generally issued semester-by-semester. Qualifications
Appropriate degree for the class level Relevant experience or training Understanding and commitment to urban issues Licensure or certification, if applicable Preferred Qualifications Previous university teaching experience Familiarity with online systems like Canvas Application Materials
