Responsibilities

Provide best-in-class guest service: promptly greet guests; respond to guest questions/concerns quickly, effectively, and courteously; assist guests with meeting their video gaming needs; inform guests of special promotions; recommend additional items as appropriate; apply all selling behaviors during every transaction and thank every guest for shopping at GameStop; prioritize guests over tasks and demonstrate that commitment by circulating throughout the store. Support the total shopping environment, including visual and operational elements, current sales initiatives, and the guest relationships that lead to sales and repeat business. Promptly and accurately process guest purchases/return transactions using the Point-of-Sale (POS) system, including making correct changes, placing merchandise in a bag, providing a receipt, and ensuring top-notch guest service. Respond to guest comments or questions in person or on the phone; answer calls promptly, courteously, and professionally; escalate customer issues and complaints to the Store Manager when appropriate and in a timely manner. Promote GameStop’s guest benefits, including the new title reservations program, trade-in program, and Pro Rewards guest loyalty program. Assist the Store Manager with setting guest service expectations for store associates and training staff in all relevant policies, procedures, practices, and guidelines. Observe associate performance and provide timely feedback to the Store Manager; address unsatisfactory performance as directed to ensure alignment with company and store guest service expectations. Provide recognition and feedback to store associates and document performance in the HR system in partnership with the Store Manager. Ensure onboarding, job training, and compliance training for store associates are completed prior to opening or closing a shift; ensure associates know all job aspects, including policies, inventory control, loss prevention, safety, financial protocol, and ethics. Schedule store associates in alignment with guidelines; supervise staffing levels to maintain high-quality guest service. Assist with payroll related tasks and verify paid time off and time edits, ensuring associates are paid for all time worked. Keep all store areas clean, organized, and merchandised per company guidelines; ensure fixtures and equipment are in good working order. Fulfill Omni-Channel orders and ensure daily shipping. Protect company assets with effective inventory control and loss prevention practices; inspect packages at store closing or shift end as appropriate; communicate concerns to the Store Manager. Support the store team in meeting and exceeding sales, profit, and shrink goals and complete required administrative duties. Perform store inventory counts, restock merchandise, and keep products organized and alphabetized on the sales floor. Count, balance, and reconcile daily transaction totals in the POS system; complete closeout paperwork and bank deposits per guidelines. Verify shipments for discrepancies and record any shortages; conduct inventories and report discrepancies to the Store Manager or District Manager. Process defectives/recalls and stock pulls accurately; ensure packing lists are included. Maintain awareness of associate and guest safety; address hazardous situations promptly and report injuries per policy. Maintain store records/files; ensure manuals are up to date. Supervise and delegate tasks to Sales Associates and Retail Keyholders in the Store Manager’s absence. Adhere to GameStop policies and procedures, including the Associate Handbook and Code of Standards, Ethics & Conduct. Adhere to opening and closing procedures. Qualifications

Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to legally work in the United States. Must be at least 18 years old. High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree with emphasis in business, marketing, merchandising, or related field preferred. At least 6 months of retail management experience preferred. At least 2 years of retail sales, guest service, and/or management experience preferred. Video game knowledge preferred. Possess an outgoing and welcoming personality with strong people skills. Provide genuine and individualized assistance to every guest during every visit. Demonstrate clear verbal and written communication and listening skills in English; bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Work effectively in a fast-paced environment; work independently and as part of a team. Meet performance expectations including attendance, personal appearance, safety, and respectful workplace. Operate the POS system; perform basic math and alphabetizing. Complete required paperwork properly; follow written or verbal instructions. Execute financial tasks in accordance with company policy. Be flexible with scheduling, including extended hours, nights, weekends, and some holidays (minimum 3 days/week). Remain reliable and trustworthy; use good judgment. Able to work in-store for extended periods; physical ability to stand, move, and lift up to 30 lbs; ability to reach and climb as required.
