Responsibilities
Provide best-in-class guest service: promptly greet guests; respond to guest questions/concerns quickly, effectively, and courteously; assist guests with meeting their video gaming needs; inform guests of special promotions; recommend additional items as appropriate; apply all selling behaviors during every transaction and thank every guest for shopping at GameStop; prioritize guests over tasks and demonstrate that commitment by circulating throughout the store.
Support the total shopping environment, including visual and operational elements, current sales initiatives, and the guest relationships that lead to sales and repeat business.
Promptly and accurately process guest purchases/return transactions using Point‑of‑Sale (POS) system; ensure correct changes, provide receipts, and maintain top-notch guest service.
Respond to guest comments or questions in person or on the phone; escalate issues to the Store Manager when appropriate.
Promote GameStop’s guest benefits, e.g., new title reservations program, trade-in program, and Pro Rewards guest loyalty program.
Assist the Store Manager with setting guest service expectations for store associates and training in company/store policies and guidelines.
Observe associate performance, provide feedback, and address unsatisfactory performance as directed; ensure alignment with guest service expectations.
Provide recognition and feedback to store associates; input written feedback into the HR system in partnership with the Store Manager.
Ensure associates complete onboarding, job training, and compliance training prior to opening or closing shifts; knowledge of policies, inventory control, loss prevention, safety, financial protocol, and ethical responsibilities.
Schedule store associates to follow scheduling guidelines; manage staffing to maintain guest service levels.
Approve payroll, manage paid time off, and verify time worked.
Maintain a clean, organized store per guidelines; ensure fixtures and equipment are in working order.
Fulfill Omni-Channel orders daily.
Protect assets through inventory control and loss prevention; conduct security checks at closing as appropriate; communicate concerns to the Store Manager.
Support the store team in meeting sales, profit, and shrink goals; perform administrative and operational duties as required.
Perform inventory counts and stock merchandise on shelves and fixtures to ensure representation and organization.
Balance daily transactions in the POS system and manage closeout paperwork and bank deposits.
Verify shipments for discrepancies; conduct inventories and report issues to the Store Manager/District Manager.
Process defectives/recalls and stock pulls; ensure proper labeling and packing lists.
Maintain associate and guest safety; report injuries promptly.
Maintain organized store records/files and keep manuals up to date.
Supervise and delegate tasks to Sales Associates and Retail Keyholders in the absence of the Store Manager.
Adhere to GameStop policies and procedures and opening/closing procedures.
Qualifications
Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States.
Must be at least 18 years old.
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, merchandising, or related field preferred.
At least 6 months of retail management experience preferred.
At least 2 years of retail sales, guest service, and/or management experience preferred.
Video game knowledge preferred.

Clear verbal and written communication and listening skills in English; bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Complete required paperwork and follow written or diagram instructions.

Demonstrate reliability, judgment, and problem-solving; handle pressure gracefully.
Able to stand and move for extended periods; lift up to 30 lbs and perform physical tasks as needed.
Knowledge of military ranks and insignia (applies to stores on military bases).
