Job Title : Curriculum Specialist – Reading Academy / OER Support / Science-Social Studies Specialist

10-31-24 Primary Purpose:
To assist in the development, implementation, and evaluation of instructional programs supporting the Mission of the WFISD and in the educational development of instructional personnel. Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
Bachelor’s degree, Masters preferred. Valid Texas teaching elementary certificate. Special Knowledge/Skills:
Demonstrates leadership ability, knowledge in relevant subject areas, strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Supervisor or Mid-management certification preferred. Experience:
Minimum three years teaching experience. Major Responsibilities and Duties:
District Climate:
Collaborate with curriculum personnel and administrators to develop and express a vision for school improvement. Maintain staff morale and demonstrate effective communication with all stakeholders. Develop district objectives aligned with instructional goals. Make recommendations based on classroom observations and assessments. Support teachers as decision-makers and assist in implementing instructional goals. District Improvement:
Promote a positive image supporting district goals. Monitor program activities and use evaluative data to improve outcomes. Use student achievement data to interpret and report results. Maintain records and develop instructional materials and assessments. Instructional Management:
Coordinate curriculum development and revision based on systematic review. Plan and facilitate staff development activities. Conduct regular conferences with staff for professional growth. Fiscal and Facilities Management:
Implement policies in accordance with laws and district policies. Analyze and recommend facility and equipment needs. Develop and manage budgets for programs and activities. Student Management:
Understand student management systems and behaviors related to curriculum issues. Professional Growth and Development:
Participate in growth opportunities and disseminate ideas. Seek evaluative feedback and participate in professional development. Adhere to the Professional Code of Ethics. District-Community Relations:
Communicate district goals effectively. Other:
Perform duties as assigned by supervisors. Maintain regular attendance. Working Conditions:
