Description

Substance Abuse Counselor role at Community Medical Services (CMS) to assist patients recovering from addictions to opioids and other illicit substances. Facilitate individual or group sessions, or assist patients with treatment plans and coping strategies to foster a safe place for recovery. Schedule: Monday through Friday 9:30am - 6pm Pay Range: Up to $40/hr depending on licensure and experience Responsibilities

Maintain and manage a caseload in compliance with regulatory standards and ratios. Conduct individual sessions, facilitate group counseling and didactic educational presentations. Complete comprehensive behavioral health assessments and individualized treatment plans, ensuring regulatory compliance and addressing client needs. Evaluate treatment effectiveness through ongoing assessment and adjust service plans as needed. Coordinate care with other recovery and community-based service providers; engage in case management activities including referrals and necessary documentation to secure services; maintain chart compliance. Include family and natural supports in the client’s treatment, per client preference. Maintain knowledge of new developments in substance use treatment as required by state licensure. Maintain professional relationships with other substance use professionals, programs, and associations. Maintain thorough and comprehensive client records. Serve as the point of contact for coordination with other systems where clinical knowledge is crucial. Assist in screening and coordinating primary care services for clients. Requirements

Combination of one of the following education and licensure levels: High School Diploma, GED or higher with active CAC II or CAC III license or above; CAS or CAT certification acceptable; Masters Degree with active LAC, LPCC, LPC, LCSW or CAS license acceptable; Behavioral Health experience preferred.
