Assistant Coach – Boys Baseball Join Catalina Foothills High School to coach the boys baseball team. Position will be under general supervision of Head Coach, Athletic Director, and Principal.

Required Qualifications

Current, valid Arizona Level One IVP fingerprint clearance card

Valid Arizona driver’s license with clean driving record

Ability and willingness to drive a small van for student transportation

Coaching and/or playing experience in baseball

Knowledge of baseball fundamentals, strategy, and methodology

Professional development in pedagogy and methodology of baseball

CPR certification prior to second full season

Duties and Responsibilities

Thorough knowledge of all athletic policies approved by the Governing Board; responsible for implementation.

Knowledge of district, state and regional regulations; consistently implement.

Understand the proper administrative line of command; refer all student and parent requests through proper channels.

Maintain discipline; increase morale and cooperation within the sports program and school community.

Administrative Duties

Assist head coach in scheduling, transportation to tournaments and special events.

Assist in preparation for scheduled sport events or practices; adhere to facility times; coordinate program with maintenance and school employees.

Provide the athletic director documentation required to fulfill school, district and state requirements concerning physical examinations, parental consent and eligibility.

Equipment and Facilities

Accountable to the head coach for all equipment; collect cost of any lost or unreturned equipment.

Arrange issuing, marking and storing of equipment; submit annual inventory and current records; coordinate all equipment processing with the equipment manager.

Monitors locker rooms, equipment room, training room, and coaches’ offices; authorize who may enter.

Secure all doors, lights, windows and locks before leaving building; coordinate with custodial staff on duty.

Instill in each player respect for equipment and school property, its care and proper use.
