The Banquet Captain supervises catered events, overseeing setup, execution, and teardown, ensuring guest satisfaction through constant communication with on-site contacts.
Responsibilities include:
Coordinating room setup and Food & Beverage service per BEO
Assisting with Audio/Visual setup
Managing banquet staff and setup teams
Conducting staff lineups and inspecting uniforms
Communicating with on-site contacts during events
Knowledge of menu items and ingredients
Training new banquet staff
Resolving guest complaints or escalating as needed
Attending weekly BEO meetings
Enforcing hotel policies
Requirements:
Management or supervisory experience
Excellent communication and guest service skills
Strong organizational and planning skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Positive, professional attitude
Dependability and energy
Previous restaurant or banquet experience
Bartending and Audio Visual experience preferred
Flexible scheduling
Physical Requirements:
Constant standing and walking
Frequent bending, squatting, handling, grasping
Ability to lift/carry 50 lbs and push/pull 97 lbs
Must pass a physical exam
Working Environment:
Indoor, fast-paced setting.
