Overview
As one of the industry faces for McHutchison & Vaughan’s Horticulture, this position demands complete professionalism, honesty, integrity and ethical standards. You must provide leadership and coordination of the regional sales and key accounts team in your area of responsibility. As part of the sales management team this role supports the current efforts of our sales teams, and serves as a vital role for developing our sales representatives. An ideal candidate should have strength in integrity, enthusiasm and pragmatic optimism.
Requirements Minimum 5 years in sales in the horticulture industry
Minimum 3 years supervisory experience preferred
Professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
Proven leadership ability to influence, develop, and empower employees to achieve goals
Ability to travel and work a flexible schedule; 30-40% travel estimated
Basic technology skills in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
Position ideally would be based in the Pacific time zone
Primary responsibilities Develop and execute multi-year Key Account program strategies to ensure sustainable growth
Work with Key Account and Hybrid sales reps to drive the growth of Dümmen Orange genetics with their assigned customers
Facilitate teamwork with Dümmen Orange Regional Sales Managers
Grow sales and profitability of 3rd party breeders and vendors where strategically advantageous
Lead Key Account team sales calls & meetings
Recruit new and replace retiring Key Account & Hybrid sales representatives
On board, monitor and measure new Key Account sales representatives
Coach/mentor and provide feedback to underperforming reps
Assess performance and suggest corrective actions
Advocate for Key Account team to ensure proper support & service are provided by our office team and Dümmen Orange
Work with assigned reps (west of the Mississippi) to increase profitability in their territories – non-nursery reps
Sales planning and goals
Recruit new and replace retiring sales representatives
On board, monitor and measure new sales representatives
Coach/mentor and provide feedback to underperforming reps
Assess performance and suggest corrective actions
Advocate for your sales team to ensure proper support & service are provided by our office team
Assist in the creation of annual sales budgets & strategies
Collaborate with MCHV & DO product managers to ensure development and deployment of sales strategies to meet & exceed MCHV sales goals
Meeting, training and trip coordination as required
Sales report development and distribution
