Research Associate in Carbon Nanomaterials for Biomedical Applications The School of Chemical Engineering at UNSW is recruiting a Research Associate to conduct independent and team-based research on carbon nanomaterials for biomedical applications. The role involves synthesis, optimisation, characterisation, catalytic analysis, and biological testing of nanomaterials and will contribute to scientific publications, conferences, and collaboration with industry partners.

Responsibilities

Design and execute experiments across synthesis, optimisation, and characterisation of nanomaterials.

Perform catalytic analysis and biological testing of carbon nanomaterials.

Prepare scientific papers and reports for international journals.

Supervise HDR students and engage with industry partners.

Participate in conferences and workshops to advance research objectives.

Qualifications

PhD in materials science, chemical engineering, biomedical engineering, or related field.

Track record of publications and conference presentations in relevant field.

Experience in synthesis, characterisation, catalysis, and/or bio-application of carbon nanomaterials.

Independent research capability with limited supervision.

Collaboration, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.

Commitment to UNSW values and policies.

Knowledge of health and safety responsibilities and training.

Employment Details

Salary, Level A - $113,911 to $121,838 per annum + 17% superannuation

Full time, Fixed-term contract – 12 months with possibility to extend

Location: Kensington – Sydney, Australia
