Base pay range: $46,800.00/yr - $55,070.00/yr Starting salary range may apply for those with teaching experience. Robust benefits package includes medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance options; eligibility details provided upon employment. Tennessee Consolidated Retirement System (TCRS) pension plan with possible 401k contributions. Vacation and paid time off, adoption/ parental caregiver leave, laptop provision, and Master Teacher Program eligibility after two years. Job Description
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Flexibly Support Student Learning – primarily as an in-building Substitute Teacher. Engage adaptively to the needs of students per the Principal's discretion. Tasks may include covering classrooms for parental leave or extended absence, pulling small groups for intervention, classroom observations, and supporting school-wide procedures such as lunch, arrival, and dismissal. If a classroom teacher transitions during the year, the substitute may move into the classroom as an interim teacher. Curriculum Development and Instruction – Plan and use instructional strategies, activities, materials, and equipment that reflect understanding of student learning styles and needs. Commitment to School and Classroom Culture – Work collaboratively with school teams and across KIPP Nashville; participate in staff meetings; foster positive rapport with students and a calm learning environment; uphold the school’s values and policies. Family Engagement – Establish and maintain communication with families; attend open houses, parent-teacher conferences, and events involving parents; be available to students, parents, and staff as needed. Growth Mindset – Pursue challenging professional goals; participate in ongoing professional development and school-wide initiatives; engage in feedback loops to foster improvement. Qualifications
Requirements Conferred Bachelor’s Degree Pass Criminal Background Check Desired Qualities Experience working with students (highly preferred) Commitment to serving students from educationally under-resourced communities (highly preferred) Experience and demonstrated success teaching students from under-resourced communities (highly preferred) At least two years of teaching experience (preferred) Passionate about data-driven instruction Commitment to KIPP Nashville’s mission, core values, students, families, and community Affirmation of student, family, and staff identities Desire to grow students into their highest selves and belief in education as a lever for equity Willingness to collaborate and problem-solve with stakeholders Commitment to ongoing professional development Apply and equal opportunity
