Public Safety Officer Per Diem at Hartford HealthCare Location: 435 Lewis Avenue - MidState Med (10123) Shift: Per Diem Work where every moment matters. Public Safety Officers serve as front line guardians to the Hartford HealthCare Community by providing customer service and ensuring environments are safe and prepared for patients, visitors, colleagues, clinicians and physicians. Officers prevent hazardous situations with their presence, respond to emergencies and provide support and resources when situations are managed. Responsibilities
Provides professional, customer service focused assistance to the HHC Community including patients, visitors, families, colleagues, clinicians, physicians, and the first responder community. Patrols and rounds the facility to identify safety concerns or other problems; may be assigned to fixed areas to check credentials, provide information or directions. When mobile, operates vehicles in a safe manner in compliance with traffic and safety rules. Provides timely response, uses problem solving to manage and investigate security incidents and hazards. Maintains current knowledge of instructions, policies and procedures and performs work accordingly. Shares information with other Public Safety Officers, maintains accurate activity logs and completes reports and documentation. Partners with law enforcement and other first responders when warranted. Informs supervisor or leadership of unusual situations and requests additional assistance as needed. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications
One (1) year of relevant experience (public safety, corrections, emergency medical services, military) required. High school diploma/GED required. Valid driver’s license required Valid CT Guard Card required Ability to read, write, speak and understand English required Two (2) years of relevant experience preferred Basic First Aid and CPR preferred Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) preferred Management of Aggressive Behaviors (MOAB) preferred Multilingual preferred Ability to exercise discretion and use good judgment to perform duties promptly and with little direction Focused on providing an exceptional experience to patients, customers, staff, organizations, and partners Ability to analyze and solve difficult situations, emergencies Attention to detail and ability to work independently Basic to intermediate computer and technology skills Additional Information
