Overview
Join to apply for the Middle School Assistant Wrestling Coach role at Bullis School. The Bullis School Athletic Department is looking to hire a qualified Middle School Assistant Wrestling Coach for our co-ed program. Working closely with the Director of Wrestling, this position helps foster a positive, competitive environment in alignment with Bullis School’s mission and values. Schedule
Practice: Monday through Friday, 2:00-3:30 PM. Meets are held on and off campus in the DMV area. Coaches may be asked to drive an activity bus to and from meets. Responsibilities
Assist in designing and implementing all aspects of the wrestling program for grades 6-8, including practice planning, game preparation, and skill development. Support communication with student-athletes regarding weekly schedules, early dismissals, and academic responsibilities. Attend all required coaching meetings before, during, and after the season. Assist in managing program equipment, uniforms, and facility usage to ensure organization, cleanliness, and readiness. Maintain consistent communication with the Director of Wrestling and Athletic Director(s), providing feedback and recommendations for program improvement. Perform any additional responsibilities related to the wrestling program as assigned by the Director of Wrestling. Experience and Qualifications
Prior successful experience coaching wrestling, preferably at the middle school, high school or collegiate level Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills Ability to inspire, motivate, and mentor student-athletes Deep understanding of the sport, with a focus on skill development and strategic gameplay CPR/First Aid and concussion training certification (or willingness to obtain) Must be available for regular season (November–February) Preferred
Collegiate playing or coaching experience Experience coaching club wrestling Experience working in independent schools or with student-athletes in competitive academic environments Experience coaching or mentoring at the Middle School level Interest in being involved with the full program, including Upper School wrestling This is a stipend position paid at the end of the season for $2,150 - $2,850
