Description Waggoner Engineering is actively seeking a highly skilled
Water/Wastewater Engineer
to join our team at our HQ in
Jackson, Mississippi ! The focus of this position is providing planning, design, and technical assistance to the Discipline Manager and other members of the design team in delivering projects within budgetary and time constraints.

Key Responsibilities
Perform engineering analyses and evaluations (primarily computer-based) supporting the planning and design of civil works projects.
Design water distribution systems, water supply and treatment components, sanitary sewer systems, and other related projects.
Assess and evaluate existing system conditions and develop remedial measures.
Maintain communication with clients throughout project development and completion.
Review project status with project managers and team members, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Participate in project management meetings.
Assist in preparing engineering studies and reports.
Provide technical guidance and training to team members.
Prepare project designs using engineering software and tools.
Assist in preparing contract documents and technical specifications.
Ensure quality control procedures are followed.
Maintain responsibility for work accuracy and final checks.
Adhere to applicable codes and standards.
Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to engineering staff.
Skills, Knowledge, and Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
1+ years of related design experience; knowledge of laws and regulations.
PE license in Mississippi required; ability to obtain in contiguous states within 6 months preferred.
Proficient in AutoCAD and Civil 3D; advanced MS Office skills.
Knowledge of sustainability principles in infrastructure.
Familiarity with Deltek Financial and Project Management systems.
Strong communication skills and understanding of company operations.
