Five Star Equipment, a John Deere Construction and Forestry Equipment Dealer, has an immediate opening in Rochester, NY for a self-motivated outside sales professional to join our team as the Compact Construction Equipment Outside Sales Representative. The Sales Representative for Compact Construction Equipment (CCE) is responsible for the sale, rental and leasing of all new and used John Deere compact equipment, and for driving market share in the private sector of Five Star Equipment's territory. Job Type: Full Time, Exempt – Monday thru Friday Location: Rochester, NY (Five Star Equipment, John Deere Large Construction Equipment Dealer) Responsibilities / Duties
Schedules consistent calls and visits to current and potential customers. Develops rapport with all customers and develops partnerships with current and potential clients to grow John Deere CCE market share in their territory. Responsible for securing CCE business, including demonstrations, technical presentations, and consultative assistance in areas of machine specifications, attachments, etc., based on customer type and applications. Manage designated territories and customers to maximize our presence on equipment purchases. Meet or exceed Company targets for units, dollars and gross profit. Promotes and sells allied support services such as preventative maintenance contracts and undercarriage repair and replacement. Attends and participates in sales meetings and training sessions to stay current with new equipment and sales programs. Utilizes Company CRM to manage up-to-date call logs, prospect lists, and mileage information. Monitors competitors' activity/products and communicates findings to sales management. Follows the standard for conduct within the department; maintains a positive, proactive attitude and cooperates with all employees, vendors and customers. Follows company policies. Contributes to Five Star's overall success by performing additional duties as assigned. 5-8 years of sales experience. Proven experience in the sales and promotion of equipment in industry segments served by Five Star Equipment. Ability to use Microsoft Office and a CRM system. Ability to operate and demonstrate working features of Compact Construction Equipment being sold or rented. Ability to travel and work flexible hours in various demanding environmental conditions. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Must have a valid driver's license with acceptable driving record and be able to pass a background check. Seniority level
