The iconic Hotel del Coronado is looking for a
Social Catering Sales Manager
to join the leadership team. Located on Coronado Island near Downtown San Diego, the resort underwent a $400M renovation and expansion and now features 750+ rooms (including cottages and villas), 65,000 square feet of banquet space, and 10 food and beverage outlets (4 restaurants, 2 bars, a food truck marketplace, an ice cream shop, and in-room dining). Responsibilities
Solicit and respond to companies and organizations to purchase food & beverage, rent meeting space, and ancillary services from the hotel. Coordinate the prompt, courteous, and efficient delivery of products to satisfy customer service needs and maximize the hotel’s profits. Qualifications
Two years prior hotel food and beverage, catering, event management, or sales experience. Four-year degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management or equivalent combination of education and professional experience preferred. Knowledge in food and beverage menu development. Knowledge in all areas of banquet and event etiquette, guest relations, and service standards. Ability to operate independently with high autonomy, excellent time management, and self-motivation. Ability to manage and direct staff. Ability to handle multiple customer and operational demands with professionalism under time-sensitive deadlines. Hotel product and industry knowledge (staffing, operations, safety, security, union rules, structural terminology, fire, police, health codes, hotel policies, city ordinances). Quantitative data processing and analytical skills to determine and communicate financial forecasting and space utilization. Proficiency with computer systems (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, Delphi or in-house sales system), Market Vision, OnQ, InFocus, Internet and Intranet, and CAD program (or equivalent). Ability to read, write, and speak English to comprehend guest requests, proposals, memos, and related materials. Ability to complete contracts in compliance with checklists, standards, and hotel policies. Strong interpersonal skills to provide guest satisfaction. The annual salary range for this role is $60,000 - $70,000 and is based on applicable and specialized experience and location.
