Overview
Bottom Line Equipment is seeking an Outside Sales Representative to manage and grow customer accounts in the heavy equipment rental market. The role focuses on establishing relationships with BLE’s customer account holders, expanding contact networks, and developing account strategies. The position requires engagement with industry groups, revenue growth, and market share expansion in the heavy equipment rental sector.
Responsibilities
Establish and maintain a consistent working relationship with BLE’s customer account holders; expand customer contacts, conduct regular visits, and develop account strategies.
Identify and participate in working groups related to the heavy equipment rental industry.
Ensure revenue growth and services at assigned customer accounts while meeting customer needs.
Develop and maximize market share in the heavy equipment rental markets.
Service existing accounts, obtain orders, and establish new accounts by planning and organizing daily work to call on existing or potential sales outlets and other trade factors.
Adjust sales presentations by studying the type of sales outlet or trade factor.
Focus sales efforts by studying existing and potential volume of dealers.
Submit orders by referring to price lists and product literature.
Keep management informed by submitting activity and results reports (daily call reports, weekly work plans, monthly and annual territory analyses).
Monitor competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new products, delivery schedules, and merchandising techniques.
Recommend changes in products, service, and policy by evaluating results and competitive developments.
Resolve customer complaints by investigating problems, developing solutions, preparing reports, and making recommendations to management.
Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing networks, and participating in professional societies.
Provide historical records by maintaining data on area and customer sales.
Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed; embrace BLE core values: Make It Happen, Do the Right Thing, Work Hard, Smart and Safe, We Care, Be the Best and Own It.
Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Education & Experience
2-4 year degree is preferred, but not required.
3 to 5 years sales experience within the heavy equipment industry and/or 5 years’ experience in the related field.
Strong computer navigation skills; proficient in Microsoft Office and Wynne System.
Must have a valid driver’s license and driving record in good standing.
Knowledge of frequently used sales and customer relations concepts, practices and procedures.
Technical Skills
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and multi-task.
Ability to adhere to and meet deadlines.
Excellent communication skills (oral and written) and customer service skills.
Proficient in Wynne System and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
Work Environment / Physical Requirements
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Sitting, Standing, Grasping, Near Acuity, Speaking, Reaching, Listening, Lifting up to 50 pounds.
Travel
Business travel: 80% (as indicated in job description).
International travel: 0%.
Requires working in multiple states or countries: Yes.
