The NYC Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) enriches the environment and protects public health for all New Yorkers by providing 1.1 billion gallons of high-quality drinking water, managing wastewater and storm water, and reducing air, noise, and hazardous materials pollution. DEP is the largest combined municipal water and wastewater utility in the country, with nearly 6,000 employees. DEP's water supply system is comprised of 19 reservoirs and 3 controlled lakes throughout the system’s 2,000 square mile watershed that extends 125 miles north and west of the City. The Bureau of Engineering Design & Construction (BEDC) has a portfolio of capital projects valued at $23.8B, with another $10.5B projected over the next 10 years. BEDC’s Wastewater Capital Program (WWCP) manages the design and construction of projects for the Bureau of Wastewater Treatment (BWT) and the Bureau of Water Supply (BWS). Key projects include wastewater resource recovery facilities upgrades, CSO abatement projects, and pump station rehabilitation. BEDC seeks to hire an Administrative Project Manager (NM) to serve as an Accountable Manager (AM) for WWCP. The role involves supporting construction projects such as the main sewage pumps at Owls Head WRRF, headworks improvements at Oakwood Beach WRRF, and other wastewater projects. The AM will oversee planning, design, and construction of major capital projects, ensuring milestones are met and work products conform to scope. Responsibilities include contract modifications, staff guidance, safety integration, client service, and coordination with various divisions and stakeholders. The role requires proactive issue resolution, risk mitigation, quality management, and performance monitoring. The AM reports to the Portfolio Manager. Only applicants with permanent Civil Service Administrative Project Manager status are eligible. Please do not apply if you do not meet this criterion. Preferred Skills: Effective communication with diverse project stakeholders. Valid NY driver license without restrictions. Knowledge of permitting, codes, standards, and safety protocols. Ability to interpret complex contract documents and assess project performance. Understanding of project scheduling, scope, and resource management. Proficiency in engineering design, construction standards, and environmental operations. Strong technical, interpersonal, and computer skills, including MS Office and project scheduling software. Experience in contract specifications for public works projects. Residency Requirement:

Minimum Qualifications: Baccalaureate in engineering, architecture, or related field plus 5 years of relevant experience, including 2 in a managerial capacity; or High school diploma plus 9 years of relevant experience, including 2 in a managerial capacity; or Equivalent education/experience.
