Job Details California Fish Grill – Cashier

Location: South San Francisco, CA

Salary: $20 - $24.98 per hour

Responsibilities

Greet customers, receive food orders, repeat food orders.

Charge the appropriate price for each menu item ordered.

Receive the correct amount tendered and provide the correct change.

Enact gift cards requested by customers.

Be very familiar with and up to date with California Fish Grill Restaurant’s menu and prices.

Interact with guests in a friendly and fast manner.

Make corrections to customer orders quickly and efficiently.

Determine counterfeit money and respond to situations involving counterfeit money.

Verify age requirements prior to serving alcoholic beverages.

Treat all customers to ensure their complete satisfaction.

Report to work in a neat and clean uniform; well-groomed hair and personal hygiene are essential.

Keep work area neat and clean at all times.

Clean and maintain equipment used.

Complete requirements for in-service training, acceptable attendance, uniform and dress codes including personal hygiene, and other work duties as assigned.

General Responsibilities

Supports, cooperates with, and implements specific procedures and programs for safety, including precautions and safe work practices, fire/safety/disaster plans, risk management, and security, report and/or correct unsafe working conditions, equipment repair and maintenance needs.

Confidentiality of all data, including guest credit card information.

Compliance with current law and policy to provide a work environment free from sexual harassment and all illegal and discriminatory behavior.

Supports and participates in common teamwork: Cooperates and works together with all co-workers; plan and complete job duties with minimal supervisory direction, including appropriate judgment.

Uses tactful, appropriate communications in sensitive and emotional situations.

Follows up as appropriate with supervisor, co-workers or guests regarding reported complaints, problems and concerns.

Promotes positive public relations with community, family members and guests.

Ability to properly charge the correct price for food and drink item ordered in an effective, professional manner.

Ability to operate a POS.

Maintain composure when dealing with staff and occasionally under conditions of urgency and/or pressure situations.

100% – Continuously reach, bend, lift, carry, stoop and wipe.

Must be of legal age according to State regulations to serve alcohol.

Ability to follow written and oral instructions and procedures as directed by the Restaurant Manager.

Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED and 1-2 years related work experience or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.

Prior experience related to cashier or food service positions.

Valid ServSafe® or other approved Food Handler Certification.

High level of integrity and honesty.

Working Conditions Restaurant environment. May be required to work beyond normal working hours as needed to meet customer needs or restaurant requirements.

Ability to perform multiple tasks.

Frequent standing, reaching with hands and arms, stooping and kneeling.

Maintain composure when dealing with staff and occasionally under conditions of urgency and/or pressure situations in a fast-paced environment.
