Hybrid, Plymouth, MN What You Will Do

Create engineering documentation, including SolidWorks modeling, fabrication and purchase drawings that conform to Daikin standards. Translate engineering/marketing intent into manufacturing working 3D layouts, detailed documentation, and Bill of Materials and configurators. Work with VAVE/Product Engineers and Production Engineers to provide 3D models and documentation for original designs or custom modifications of current products. Demonstrate design aptitude with abstract thinking and mechanical reasoning. Incorporate creativity, accuracy, and cost-effectiveness into design and configurator work. Provide accurate estimates of tasks on projects and execute to your estimate; collaborate with project management to refine and communicate additional work as needed. Gain knowledge of design and manufacturing practices, processes, and Daikin products. Understand current and legacy bill of materials systems and product structuring logic. Collaborate in a team environment including cross-functional and inter-departmental teams. Mentor less experienced drafters and designers within the team. Potentially travel to other Daikin Minnesota or Mexico facilities as needed up to 10% of the time. What’s In It For You

Vocational, Technical, or Associate of Applied Science degree in design/drafting and 5+ years of related design experience. A Bachelor's degree in Engineering (or similar) with 3+ years of related design experience will be considered. Intermediate Excel skills. Professional work experience with manufacturing practices and processes and product configurations, including basic logic for product or design selection. Professional experience using SolidWorks or equivalent CAD tools. Understanding of legacy bill of materials systems and product structuring logic. Work visa sponsorship is not available for this position. Preferred Qualifications

Experience in sheet metal design and/or HVAC products is desired. Experience with variable geometry parts and configurator logic is desired. 5+ years of related design experience. Benefits
