Position Summary
The College of Law is seeking to hire a director for the Entrepreneurship Clinic. This position will be full‑time, 12‑month, fixed‑term and will manage the clinic’s operations and funding, perform and supervise casework and outreach, and teach the clinic seminar.
Responsibilities Duties of the position will include recruiting students and reviewing their applications, designing, teaching, and supervising students enrolled in the clinic, as well as promoting the clinic. The director also actively engages in service at the college and university and in national organizations.
Clinic Focus The Director of the Entrepreneurship Clinic leverages MSU’s strengths in intellectual property, technology transfer, and innovation to serve Michigan’s entrepreneurial economy. The clinic provides transactional legal services to entrepreneurs, startups, and innovation‑driven enterprises, while training students in business law. The clinic is MSU Law’s only law clinic training students in transactional legal practice, covering intellectual property, technology transfer, business formation, contract drafting, and regulatory compliance.

Required Degree Other - JD or equivalent in Law
Minimum Qualifications
JD or equivalent degree;
Admission to practice before the highest court of any state with the ability to be admitted to the State Bar of Michigan;
At least five years of law‑related professional experience after law school.
Desired Qualifications Substantial teaching experience with clinical courses.
