Job Responsibilities A Lead Teacher will be the onsite leader of the program supervising teachers, aides, and volunteers. Responsibilities include maintaining a safe and developmentally appropriate classroom environment, implementing a fun and engaging curriculum, and fostering positive relationships with children, parents, and the school community. Work is primarily performed in Hillsboro School District. At times, staff may be asked to travel to fill in at other childcare sites within the YMCA of Columbia-Willamette Association. There may be times when staff are asked to attend company events outside of their regular schedule. Staff will be notified ahead of time if and when this happens.

Requirements Required Qualifications

Pass a YMCA Background Check

At least 240 hours of qualifying experience working with school age children in the past five years, an Associates or higher degree in a related field, or a Step 6 on the Oregon Registry.

Meet all Program Leader standards as dictated by the state Child Care Division.

Current enrollment in the Oregon State Childcare Registry or ability to enroll prior to employment.

Current CPR and First Aid certification or ability to obtain within 30 days.

Current Food Handlers certification or ability to obtain within 30 days.
