The Department of Radiation Oncology at UPMC Hillman Cancer Center provides comprehensive, individualized care using advanced imaging technology and radiation systems. Our team of board-certified radiation oncologists and medical physicists collaborates with other healthcare professionals to deliver safe, effective treatments based on the latest evidence. Our program is accredited by the American College of Radiation Oncology (ACRO), making Hillman the largest ACRO-accredited system in the nation.
We are hiring a
Radiation Therapist
for the UPMC Altoona network Radiation Oncology office in Altoona, PA. This full-time role offers a
$15,000 sign-on bonus
and a regular daylight schedule, Monday through Friday.
Job Responsibilities:
Clinical Operations:
Assist in patient treatment delivery, localization imaging, and documentation. Support patient education and monitor reactions to treatments. Provide on-call coverage as needed and assist at other locations if required.
Regulatory Affairs Management:
Ensure compliance with safety standards, maintain readiness for inspections, and handle equipment issues promptly.
Clinical Procedures:
Perform treatments, simulations, device fabrication, and imaging according to prescriptions. Maintain treatment records and ensure quality and safety in treatment administration. Explain procedures to patients and support localization imaging.
Continuing Education:
Participate in training to maintain ARRT Certification and adhere to competencies and behaviors.
Fiscal Responsibilities:
Manage charge capture, supply needs, and expenses effectively.
Quality Assurance:
Conduct equipment QA, document findings, and participate in quality improvement programs to ensure high standards of patient care.
