Limited Casual Radiation Therapist
to support our Radiation Oncology Network offices in the North Region, including UPMC Northwest, Horizon, Butler, Beaver, and Erie. This position involves a daylight schedule, Monday through Friday, floating between offices as needed. Under the supervision of a radiation oncologist, the Radiation Therapist will deliver prescribed radiation treatments, obtain localization images, assist with contrast agent administration, perform measurements for treatment calculations, and document procedures accurately. Continuing Education Program Management:
Participate in training to maintain ARRT Certification and adhere to system-wide competencies. Clinical Operations:
Assist in clinical rotations, evaluate student performance, communicate effectively with patients, observe and report patient reactions, reinforce patient education, maintain a safe treatment environment, provide on-call coverage, and support other UPMC Radiation Oncology locations as needed. Fiscal Responsibilities:
Ensure accurate charge capture, notify supply needs, manage expenses according to policy, and utilize resources effectively. Clinical Procedures:
Perform treatments, simulations, immobilization device fabrication, radiosurgery, and brachytherapy as prescribed. Take localization images, document treatment data, ensure safety, and explain procedures to patients. Regulatory Compliance:
Maintain departmental readiness for inspections, follow radiation safety standards, wear monitoring badges, stay HIPAA compliant, complete annual competencies, and report equipment issues. Quality Assurance:
Conduct daily and weekly QA, document findings, notify leadership of deviations, participate in quality improvement programs, and collaborate with team members to uphold high standards. This job is active and accepting applications.
