The Testbed & Simulation (Tb&S) Product Line is a fast paced, highly dynamic organization of about 120 people. We provide mission-critical intelligence solutions by optimizing satellite constellations, processing data through its life cycle and developing reliable infrastructure for information dissemination across a global network and 30+ Space programs. Within these programs, you will participate in the design, development, verification and deployment of complex new software and hardware simulation systems. The Tb&S Software Product Line is seeking a Hardware/Electronics Engineer with a strong interest in hardware design, test and software scripting. This position will support full project life cycles of testbed products, including Hardware-In-the-Loop (HWIL) testbeds.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with Tb&S Hardware Engineers on system requirements understanding of our simulation products.
Understand Tb&S testbed architecture and develop signal channelization lists, wire diagrams, and top level designs.
Design custom harness and cable designs.
Design Custom Circuit Card Assemblies (CCA).
Act as Engineering Liaison with technicians during fabrication.
Troubleshoot design equipment.
Write and execute Equipment Functional Checkout Procedures (EFCP).
Collaborate across Tb&S teams and program teams.
Communicate and coordinate with software/hardware leads within the Product Line.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or higher in Electronics Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience with strong electronics principles, theories and practices.
Minimum of 2 years professional experience in Electronics Engineering or related discipline.
Experience troubleshooting/debugging electronics.
Experience using laboratory test equipment for hardware debugging (e.g., oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, protocol analyzers).
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Project, Word, Excel).
Must be a US Citizen; ability to obtain a government security clearance. This position requires special access.
Desired Skills
Experience writing and executing test procedures.
Electronic circuit design experience.
Experience troubleshooting hardware (cable setups, PCB/CCA, electronic equipment).
Experience with cable/harness design and circuit design across analog/digital, microcontrollers, FPGAs, and power supply circuits.
Experience developing software using languages such as Python, C/C++, C#, or Visual Basic.
Experience with Unix/Linux environments and software configuration management tools (Git or Subversion).
Experience with CCA design, schematic design, and BOM generation, and working with vendors for fabrication/assembly.
Experience in hardware/software integration and hardware development lifecycle (requirements, design, development, integration, test, maintenance).
Willingness to learn new environments and work independently in a fast-paced development environment.

Compensation and Benefits Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, New York (excluding some metro areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington, or Washington, DC is $70,100 - $123,625. Salary varies by location and other factors. Benefits offered include Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term and Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, PTO, Holidays, and more. Details vary by state and employee type.
