VHVI VUH Advanced Practice Inpatient Job Summary: This role involves performing inpatient consults and supporting the EP recovery room. The Cardiology NP or PA collaborates with a multidisciplinary team, providing comprehensive cardiology care in ambulatory and acute settings. Candidates should have didactic education, clinical competency, and national certification in their area of practice. The role demands medical knowledge, clinical judgment, professionalism, and effective communication, with responsibilities including professional development and competency validation. Position Hours: Four 10-hour days per week, with three days in the hospital and one in the clinic. Weekend coverage once every 6 weeks. Requirements: Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AGACNP) / Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) or Physician Assistant (PA) Cardiology experience required EP APP experience strongly preferred NPs must be acute care certified Key Responsibilities: Obtain and document health history, perform physical exams, and develop care plans. Collaborate on healthcare services for primary, acute, and complex care, managing overall patient care. Order, perform, interpret, and collect diagnostic data. Formulate differential diagnoses and treat conditions. Prescribe pharmacologic, non-pharmacologic, and surgical interventions. Use evidence-based protocols and facilitate referrals and consultations. Provide specialty-specific consultation and facilitate patient transitions across care settings. Technical Capabilities: Professionalism, interpersonal and communication skills, scholarly inquiry, patient-centered care, clinical knowledge, and health systems management.
