Anatomic Pathologist Position
Ochsner Health in New Orleans is seeking a BC/BE Pathologist. Applicants should be board certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology, with 5 years\' experience preferred doing cytology or FNA\'s, and experience in diagnostic surgical pathology. The available position is based within the Ochsner health System in the greater New Orleans, LA region. This current advertised position is for our New Orleans Ochsner Main Campus Hospital location as part of our Anatomic Pathologist Group. Department and Practice Context
Currently, the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine consists of 38 pathologists and two PhDs. The Community group is made up of 11 pathologists who currently staff 4 hospitals within the greater New Orleans Area. There are 12 pathologists who practice primarily anatomic pathology at the Ochsner Medical Center-New Orleans campus with subspecialty interest in dermatopathology, transplant pathology, GU and GI pathology, as well as cytopathology. Additional clinical pathologists with expertise in blood banking, hematology, microbiology, and clinical chemistry are part of the department. The Ochsner health system processes approximately 95,000 surgical cases and 50,000 cytology cases annually, with a wide spectrum of cases and complexity. The department supports a solid organ transplantation program and comprehensive oncology services, including a state-of-the-art breast cancer center and a bone marrow transplant program. As an academic institution, the department supports academic initiatives and serves as an affiliate training site for local pathology training programs and rotating medical students. Qualifications
