Responsibilities
Business Unit/Department Mission:
Shapes bread for new and existing retail customers by performing the following duties. Leads and monitors production flow, controls quality of breads and baked goods, and ensures the production of high-quality products. Essential Functions/Process Responsibilities: Knowledge of 95 bread varieties and 75 pastry varieties Coordinates production flow and organizes the production area Oversees quality and monitors shrinkage of baked goods Manages the production of special orders Schedules shifts, lunches, and breaks for the production team Orders raw ingredients for baked goods Maintains sanitation standards in the bakery department Monitors the operation of machinery and equipment Assists in training new bakery production partners Supervises bakery department employees
Education and Experience
Typically requires 5-8 years of related experience Knowledge of bakery products, food preparation, and equipment Supervisory experience preferred Understanding of commercial baking procedures and equipment
Physical and Other Requirements
Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment Lifting of 20 lbs or more on occasion
