Building Automation & Controls Engineer . What You Will Do

As a

BuildingAutomation & Controls Engineer , you’ll be a key contributor to our Engineering team, supporting the design and implementation of HVAC and Central Utility control systems. You’ll collaborate across disciplines, interface with clients, and help shape the automation strategies that power critical infrastructure in cutting-edge facilities. A typical day includes: Preparing conceptual design documentation to define automation for planned HVAC control systems. Conducting field surveys and developing HVAC and Central Utility control systems design concepts, in coordination with the project’s lead engineers and designers. Collaborating with other discipline engineers, architects, client representation, facility operation personnel, and contractors to identify systems controls and operational criteria and design requirements. Support infrastructure assessments, infrastructure/utility master planning with automation insights. Performing code and energy evaluations. Developing HVAC & Central Utility control diagrams, airflow instrumentation and control diagrams (AF&ID), piping instrumentation control diagrams (PIDs), HVAC control network architecture diagrams, instrumentation lists, and control I/O list. Customizing BAS, instrumentation, and equipment specifications, based on company standards, to meet specific client and equipment BAS vendor requirements. Reviewing HVAC control system submittals and shop drawings, preparing responses to contractor RFIs, and creating punch lists based on field observation. Assisting in the development and refinement of Instrumentation and Control design for Mechanical systems. Minimum Qualifications

BS degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, preferred. 7-10 years of relevant experience in Building Automation Systems (BAS) control systems. Instrumentation and Control design for Mechanical systems. Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for solving complex engineering problems. Proficiency in AutoCAD Experience in selecting control valves, dampers, and instrumentation for HVAC and central utilities systems. Proficiency with MS Office and Adobe Professional software Ability to effectively communicate systems concepts and implementation details to peers, clients, and construction teams both in written and verbal form. Team-oriented mindset and collaborative spirit Travel to client sites is less than 10%. Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Pharmaceutical, Biotech, Life Science, and Laboratory environments. Proficiency with ASHRAE Engineering Guidelines for Energy Conservation, Building Automation Systems (BAS) Design and Sequences of Operation for High Performance Buildings An interest in high-profile, technically challenging work Experience working for both engineering firms and industrial corporations Why You’ll Love It Here
