Rinker Design Associates (RDA) is expanding, and we’re looking for a
Sr. Highway Design Engineer
to lead the charge in our newest office in the
Roanoke/Blacksburg/Christiansburg
region. This is more than a job—it’s a chance to

What You'll Do:
Lead & Inspire:
Manage key highway design projects from planning through construction. Guide project delivery with an eye for quality and innovation. Build the Team:
Mentor junior engineers and support the development of a collaborative, high-performing team. Be a Difference-Maker:
Drive business development and client engagement while delivering meaningful solutions to transportation challenges. Own Your Projects:
Work on a wide range of initiatives—from large-scale design-build efforts to impactful local roadway improvements. Create with Purpose:
Develop forward-thinking solutions for intersections, interchanges, pedestrian facilities, and more.
What You Bring:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (Master’s a plus) 8+ years
of experience in highway engineering design Strong technical skills and knowledge of
VDOT, AASHTO, FHWA
standards Expertise in software like
MicroStation, OpenRoads, Civil3D, AutoCAD A collaborative mindset and clear, confident communication skills P.E. license in Virginia
(or the ability to obtain one quickly)
