Department Summary Our DISH Media Ad Sales team, headquartered in New York City with additional offices in Chicago, Denver, and Los Angeles, empowers brands to reach their target audiences seamlessly across the DISH and Sling platforms. Specializing in data-driven addressable and programmatic advertising solutions, this innovative and passionate team excels in navigating the dynamic TV advertising landscape.

Responsibilities

Technical Ownership of SSP and DSP Relationships: Serve as the primary technical point of contact for SSP and DSP partners, ensuring optimal integration and troubleshooting any technical issues

Ad Tech Subject Matter Expert: Act as an internal programmatic technical expert, providing deep dives into ad tech functionalities, deal execution mechanics, and technical optimization strategies for product, engineering, data, sales, client services, and operations teams, as well as external clients

Industry Trend Implementation: Continuously monitor programmatic industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices; identify technical opportunities to enhance DISH Media’s programmatic infrastructure and collaborate with engineering and product to implement solutions

Performance Analysis and Technical Troubleshooting: Conduct in-depth analysis of programmatic tech and deal performance metrics to identify technical anomalies, potential threats, or optimization opportunities; provide detailed technical recommendations and work with Ops and cross-functional teams to resolve issues

Ad Tech Product and Feature Evaluation: Lead technical evaluations of new ad tech products, features, and vendors, assessing their compatibility with existing systems and potential impact on performance

Technical Programmatic Roadmap Input: Provide tactical and strategic technical input for the programmatic product roadmap, focusing on infrastructure improvements, new feature development, and integration needs

Technical Documentation and Training: Own the internal programmatic tech stack, process documentation, and technical training materials. Collaborate with other Ops leads to ensure documentation is current, thorough, and technically accurate; deliver technical training to small and large groups across DISH Media and the company

Qualifications

Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and 5+ years of experience in a technical programmatic role within ad operations (ad ops), tech ops, publisher campaign management, TV company ad sales, agency, or an ad tech company

Skills and Qualifications: Deep technical knowledge of the programmatic ecosystem, including SSPs (e.g., Magnite), DSPs (e.g., The Trade Desk), ad servers (e.g., FreeWheel, Google Ad Manager), unified ad decisioning/header bidding technologies, and advanced understanding of auction metrics and their underlying technical mechanisms

Strong ability to build complex technical reports, analyze raw data, and translate technical findings into actionable insights for diverse audiences

Advanced technical knowledge of programmatic and digital advertising metrics, including their calculation and interpretation within various platforms

Expert knowledge of digital ad tech communication protocols such as OpenRTB (oRTB), VAST, VPAID, MRAID, 1×1 pixels/tags, and detailed understanding of various creative formats and their technical specifications

Strong written and verbal technical communication skills, including the ability to tailor complex technical messaging and present intricate concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences

A self-starter with a proven ability to drive technical initiatives from conception to completion and lead complex cross-functional technical projects

Compensation For CO, the compensation range is $83,950-119,900

For NY, the range is $96,500-137,750
