Position Summary Proliance Surgeons Everett Bone & Joint is seeking a part‑time to full‑time Physician Assistant‑Certified (PA‑C) to work with our fellowship‑trained Orthopedic and Spine surgeons. Our private, physician‑owned practice currently consists of 8 fellowship‑trained surgeons and 3 physician assistants. Our primary office and ambulatory surgery center are located in Everett, Washington, where we offer a full spectrum of orthopedic services, including an AAAHC‑certified outpatient ambulatory surgery center, a full‑body MRI center, and digital radiography. Everett Bone & Joint is a division of Proliance Surgeons, a specialty physician practice of 150 physicians and over 100 care centers throughout the Puget Sound region. We are looking for a PA‑C who will be able to fulfill tasks both in the clinic and the operating room. The practice covers all subspecialties of orthopedics and is a well‑known and respected practice in Everett, WA, and surrounding communities. A successful candidate will be a supportive partner with the physicians; someone who exercises flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of the practice. The ideal candidate should have several years’ experience in spine surgery. The chosen PA will spend the majority of time working within the designated specialty but will also include opportunities for cross‑coverage. We are a team‑oriented group focused on working together to ensure that our patients receive exceptional care.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Independent patient care (in clinic seeing post‑ops, pre‑ops, new patients, established patients, and performing injections or other minor procedures/reductions, interpreting images, and reviewing labs) as well as inpatient consults, admissions, discharges, and ER evaluations
Developing appropriate treatment plans
Operating room first assist
No primary ER or after‑hours call responsibility
Education/Experience
Graduate of an accredited Physician’s Assistant Program
Washington State Physician Assistant License, Current
Current Certification as a physician assistant by the National Commission of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
Current CPR and BLS from the American Heart Association
Two years prior experience in surgery preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Advanced physical assessment and critical thinking skills required
Ability to listen, interact and communicate verbally and in writing
Comprehensive knowledge of surgical procedures, techniques, Standards of Care, instrumentation, equipment, and supplies as they directly correlate to the specialty
Great interpersonal skills; demonstrating patience, composure and cooperation; working well with all patients, physicians and staff
Advanced understanding of and adherence to all safety, risk management and precautionary procedures, including the consistent respect for confidentiality (HIPAA)
Using time efficiently, with meticulous attention to detail, accuracy and completion
Ability to manage multiple factors for the best result
Resourcefulness in addressing first‑level problems and tenacity to see things through to solution
Ability to remove oneself personally from given situations, remaining objective
Able to adapt to change, delays or unexpected events while maintaining a positive mindset
Clear oral and written communication
Ability to provide feedback to improve performance
Self‑motivated; able to work following specific guidelines and in accordance with detailed instructions; measure self against standard of excellence, overcome obstacles and challenges with little supervision
