is working with a world leader in the automotive tier one space. Due to their growth, they have a newly created position for a Supplier Quality Engineer. What you will do:
The Supplier Quality Engineer assesses and qualifies new suppliers, ensures all aspects of the supplier agreement are closed prior to the awarding of new business, and solves process and design problems with suppliers during development/pre-launch. The role reports on the supplier development program status, manages supplier part approval (PPAP) to completion, and establishes quality targets with suppliers. The position monitors their performance in comparison to these targets, coordinates supplier quality performance evaluations and workshops, and conducts audits. The role also manages supplier issues through on-site involvement, effective communication, and collaborative, method-based problem solving. Additionally, the Supplier Quality Engineer works with commodity buyers to identify and implement cost savings and VA/VE opportunities. What you will need:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering. Current experience in supplier quality. Technical automotive work experience (supplier quality, program/project management, manufacturing or engineering). Understanding of APQP and PPAP (FMEAs, Control Plans, MSA, etc.). Understanding of TS16949:2002 quality standard. Knowledge of process engineering. Welding experience is a plus. What we offer:
